All of
the Art classes are bust finishing up projects and
I'm busy preparing their work for the Art Show on
May 15th and 16th.
The Kindergarten children are learning their 4th
element of art- Texture. They are creating space
robots with a variety of textures.
The First Graders were introduced to the artist
Gustav Klimt. They are busy creating a painting that
was inspired by Klimt's painting titled "The Baby".
The Second Graders were shown work by artist Wayne
Thiebaud. The enjoyed his paintings of food,
especially the desserts. They are creating their own
paintings of desserts on fancy dessert stands.
The Third Graders learned why the man in Edward
Munch's "The Scream" is not actually the one
screaming. They are busy drawing their own scream
picture.
The 4th Graders created their own Super Heroes using
plaster, paint, felt, wire, feathers, and a variety
of others fun materials. They are now completing a
comic that stars their character.
The Fifth Graders have looked at work by American
artist Roy Lichtenstein. They liked his comic book
look to his paintings. We discussed how he creates a
mystery around his paintings. They are busy creating
their own pictures in his style along with a
mystery.
