ELL (English Language Learner) Program Mrs. Nicole Vaccaro
Welcome to the start of the 2011-2012 school year! ESL is an additional school service provided to enable your child to succeed in the grade-level classroom. We work with classroom teachers to help the children develop English language skills and learning strategies, which they will need to work successfully within the school curriculum. The ELL program is a pull-out program, five days a week, one period a day. Your child will be in a small group for specialized language instruction. The focus of the instruction will be based on speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in English. The students learn about American holidays, cultural awareness while acquiring new vocabulary. All of the activities are visual and hands-on. Additionally, with the use of technology including the Smart Board and the Rosetta Stone Language-Learning System, the students are active participants and enjoy learning English!
