Class of 2014-
December 2011
Thanks for checking in on our Sophomore page again!
In October, our Sophomore class participated in Spirit Week- it was amazing! During the week, we had to participate in different activities to show off our school spirit, such as face painting day, and dress like a twin day.. The most important activity however, was the Dec the Halls activity. Our students, after a few meetings, decided to Dec our assigned hall with a Candy Land theme, and it came out amazing! There were kids here in the school building working until after 9pm- and their efforts paid off!! We won first place for the hallway, which made our Sophomores so proud!!
We held a bake sale early in the school year as well, which was an easy way to earn $200 for the class. Look forward to at least two more of these for the year- they are an easy way to make some quick cash!!
The Sophomores recently hosted a babysitting night as well, which was held in the NMHS cafeteria. We had about 18 Sophomore volunteers, and the children from the community came and played all night with them. We had full blown scooter races, kick ball games, hula hoop contests, and musical chairs scavenger hunt games.. It was hysterical, and needless to say, there were a lot of laughs. Our students expressed a desire to do this again as well, so we are looking to host another one in February or early spring.
Still upcoming:
Karaoke/Dance Night
Hosting tables at Spring Carnival
Class Ring Sales
... and much more!
There will be plenty of Community Service opportunities available for the students as well through the elementary schools and town events.
***Reminder: There is 2014 Spirit Wear available for purchase in Room 236- first come first serve so get it while it's available!
Feel free to contact me for any questions or information: Thanks!! :)
