Mrs. Fran Eagleson

Mrs. Fran Eagleson has been a teacher in Berkley Street School for over 24 years. She received her undergraduate Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Saint Peter’s University. She received her post graduate degrees in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Jersey City State University and Montclair State University.

Mrs. Eagleson has taught the first grade curriculum for 25 years. Her greatest achievements have been seeing her children become strong readers and writers in the course of a year. “To see a child walk into my room in September, barely able to read or to write a sentence and then leave in June, reading and writing various genres is the greatest accomplishment a teacher can wish for.” She works closely with her colleagues in her grade level. She is an advocate of cooperative learning, small group involvement, differentiated instruction and having fun. She encourages independence and creativity among her students.

Mrs. Eagleson is a liaison to the PTO. She organizes both social and schoolwide activities throughout the year. She is an Executive Board Member of the New Milford Education Association and a member of the Berkley PTO. She was honored to be chosen as “Teacher of the Year” in 2006-07. In her free time, she loves to travel, read on the beach and wear her flip-flops!
