Mrs. Karpenski received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and English Literature from Rider University. She has been a teacher at Gibbs School for 12 years. Mrs. Karpenski currently teaches second grade but is well versed in elementary education having taught most levels K-5. She is an advocate for creating a nurturing environment in which students can focus on their interests and strengths. Often times she provides her students with activities of their choice when working in small groups. Mrs. Karpenski enjoys working with students in and out of the classroom. She is one of the Spirit Club advisors and works as a substitute site manager at the Knightcare program. 

In her free time she enjoys traveling, reading, going to concerts,going for walks and hikes with her dog Woodie and rooting for the New York Giants and Mets.
