As a World Language Educator, I am simply sharing my passion with the youth of America on a daily basis. When I reflect on what my classroom looks like, enthusiasm and engagement in the target language immediately come to mind.
I received my B.A. in French Translation/Education from Montclair State University in May 2012 and concluded my studies there once again for my M.A. in French Studies in 2017. I will continue to actively pursue advancing my education via another degree program, certification, or picking up a good book. I always encourage the same to my students each and everyday.
Since my very first day at David E. Owens Middle School in 2012, I have been consistent in looking to further any opportunities I can grasp in my career through diligence, hard work, and persistence. I have provided a safe and fun learning environment that runs alongside New Jersey Student Learning Standards, honing classroom management skills with a variety of learners. This I have completed all while having created and still serving as the middle school French Club advisor, serving as the Québec Immersion Trip advisor, and most recently creating and advising the middle school's first-ever Spectrum Club, advocating for students who are seeking a safe place regardless of gender, disabilities, sexual orientation, etc.
I strive to continue increasing my knowledge and professional development in French and providing the best possible learning experience to my students in an ever-changing educational climate.
