Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Aylen Solis
I graduated from college May, 2007, right after graduating from college I was lucky enough to start teaching at DEO MS. Being a Spanish teacher gives me the opportunity to design lessons that reflect a true appreciation of the Spanish language and culture.
As a World Language teacher I stress the importance of teaching a foreign language as a tool useful to students in their attempt to have a more global view of the world. My main goal in a classroom is to provide the students with the skills needed to be able to communicate in the target language. We, as world language teachers must advocate the importance of learning a second language to our students and to our colleagues as well.
This course introduces the fundamental elements of the Spanish language within a cultural context. Emphasis is on the development of basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Upon completion, students should be able to comprehend and respond with grammatical accuracy to spoken and written Spanish as well as demonstrate cultural awareness.
