Mrs. Dolan has been teaching in New Milford since 1994, she was a Third Grade teacher originally, then moved to the Art Room in 2005. She received her B.A. in Art Education from Montclair State University as well as her Elementary Ed certification from William Paterson University. She is a strong advocate for keeping Art Education as part of every school curriculum. Mrs. Dolan feels all children benefit from a creative outlet, especially in this area that has the least restrictive environment. She feels the same as Edward Hopper, “If I could say it in words, there’d be no reason to paint”. She infuses art history into each lesson. She wants the students to learn about famous artists as well as their style of art.

   Mrs. Dolan is currently investigating ways to integrate technology to enhance the learning experience in the Art Room. In addition to her daily schedule, Mrs. Dolan teaches a LEAP into Art Class (Learning Enrichment Activities Program) on Tuesdays after school to 4th and 5th graders. She is also a member of the AENJ-Art Educators of New Jersey as well as the NAEA- National Art Educators Association. Outside of her professional interests, she loves to read, visit museums, go to the LBI, and she is an avid baker.
