Lisa Natale BSN, RN, CSN
Mrs. Natale has 15+ years of Nursing experience specializing in Emergency, Pediatric, and Perioperative Medicine. She holds a Bachelors Degree from Chamberlain University School of Nursing and obtained her degree as a Registered Nurse from Holy Name Medical Center's School of Nursing in New Jersey. Mrs. Natale obtained her School Nurse Certification from Rutgers University. Her credentials also include Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Nurse Educator, Health and Safety Committee Member, and Student Activity Fund Treasurer.

A bit about the class:
Introduction to Healthcare provides experiences, education, and exposure to the health care industry. The experience is both observational with some utilization of skills covered in the curriculum. This course focuses on gaining an understanding of what responsibilities and methods are utilized when selecting healthcare as a career choice by learning and applying classroom methodology to everyday practice. The course introduces students to the various disciplines within the healthcare delivery system. Students will research and discuss issues such as treatments for conditions like diabetes and asthma; how are illnesses like meningitis, tuberculosis, and measles identified are diagnosed, and why they are important from a community standpoint. Students will discuss legal and ethical responsibilities they experience in a choosing a career in healthcare. Students will also learn to speak the language of healthcare by learning medical terminology and explore topics related to body systems, safety, infection control, and perform some hands on clinical care including methods of first aid and patient care.
