Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Lindsey Freedman

Growing up I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher.  My own teachers made learning so much fun, and I carried a passion for learning with me throughout my life.  The topic that most interests me is history.  I love learning about the past, and how it relates to the present as well as the future. My decision to pursue a degree that would allow me to teach about this topic was an easy one.  I earned a Bachelor's Degree in History and Secondary Education from William Paterson University, and a Master's Degree from Montclair State University in Educational Leadership.

I have had the pleasure of teaching both 6th and 7th Grade Social Studies at David E. Owens Middle School since 2014. In 6th Grade students focus on the geography of the United States, and United States History from the Colonial Period through the Reconstruction Period. In 7th Grade students learn about the history of the world from the Paleolithic Time Period through the Roman Empire.

My goal is to provide students with learning experiences that promote creativity, curiousity, and critical thinking skills that are essential for success in their future endeavors.
