Mrs. Gitto’s return to her teaching career at Berkley Street School has been both rewarding and inspiring.  Her classroom library includes a wide variety of book collections that span many levels of reading.  Colorful and organized books bins invite students to develop their love of reading.  In math, she incorporates a concrete, hands-on approach to instruction based on methods learned for 2nd and 3rd grade at Conquer Math.

Mrs. Gitto’s classroom is a vibrant environment where students are valued, nurtured, and encouraged daily to reach their full potential.  She fosters an atmosphere where learning is student-centered and student-driven as children explore and discover that learning is exciting. Kindness is a daily focus & expectation. Debbie Gitto takes pride in being a teacher of the New Milford School District and even runs the annual 10Ks for the NMEF each year!  She looks forward to a continued career at Berkley Street School where she first began teaching in 1995.
