Mr. Saffer

Michael Saffer has been teaching in New Milford since 2005. He has an eight-year-old daughter, and two dogs named Lulu and Sofie. Mr. Saffer’s wife teaches in another Bergen County school district. For fun, Mr. Saffer enjoys family BBQs, cheering for the Yankees, and reading books, articles, and studies about leadership and current trends and issues in education. He earned his Master of Arts degree (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership and Administration from Caldwell University, and his Educational Specialist degree (Ed.S) in Leadership from the American College of Education. Mr. Saffer is a guest lecturer at local universities presenting current topics in education, such as the inclusive classroom setting, co-teaching models, and expectations of a beginning teacher. He has also provided workshops on how the moves of literacy can become essential parts of a good math lesson, the importance of tier-1 reading interventions, and the importance of using SEL to meet the needs of the whole child.
