Ms. Knudsen

Ms. Knudsen has been a teacher at B.F. Gibbs Elementary School for the past 16 years.   She earned her Bachelors Degrees in Elementary and Special Education from Bloomsburg University, and just recently earned her Master's Degree in School Library Media at William Paterson University. 

As a Library Media Specialist, Ms. Knudsen creates engaging experiences in a 21st-century student-centered learning environment.   Her students are taught through a variety of learning styles led through inquiry-based instruction.  She provides opportunities for innovative thinking, ethical and responsible use of technology and collaboration that motivates students in a welcoming and safe environment to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens.  She is committed to helping every child become an enthusiastic, lifelong reader and learner in our ever-changing global society. 

Ms. Knudsen is the Student Council Advisor, Spelling Bee Coordinator, Spirit Club Coordinator, Webmaster, LEAP Makerspace Advisor, LEAP Coding Advisor, and the 1st grade Reach Advisor.  She has organized many school-wide fundraisers, which have benefited Gibbs School as well as the New Milford Community.

At home, Ms. Knudsen has a son of her own.  When she isn’t reading with him or watching him play football, she enjoys reading, going to concerts, watching football, and traveling.
