Ms. Marisa Knudsen

Ms. Knudsen has been a teacher in the New Milford Public School District for the past 18 years. She worked as a 5th-grade teacher for ten years, the B.F. Gibbs Library Media Specialist for 6 years, and has recently moved to New Milford High School to become the Library Media Specialist. She earned dual degrees in Elementary and Special Education from Bloomsburg University, and just recently earned her Master's Degree in School Library Media at William Paterson University.
As a Library Media Specialist, Ms. Knudsen creates engaging experiences in a 21st-century student-centered learning environment. Her students are taught through a variety of learning styles led through inquiry-based instruction. She provides opportunities for innovative thinking, ethical and responsible use of technology and collaboration that motivates students in a welcoming and safe environment to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. She is committed to helping every child become an enthusiastic, lifelong reader and learner in our ever-changing global society.
At home, Ms. Knudsen enjoys spending time with her son. When she isn’t reading with him or watching him play football, she enjoys going to concerts, watching football, and traveling.
