About the Teacher



Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Curiel

Linnette Curiel is the Spanish Teacher at Gibbs and Berkley Elementary School, currently teaching 1st, 2nd,  3rd, 4th and 5th grades. Mrs. Curiel was born and raised in Venezuela and Spanish is her native language. She obtained a Master’s degree in Teacher of English as a Second Language  (TESOL) from New York University and a Spanish teaching Certificate from William Paterson University. She is a member of the FLENJ organization (Foreign Language Educators of New Jersey).

Señora Curiel has been teaching Spanish for many years, she takes great pride in teaching her native language and the culture of different Spanish speaking countries in a fun and exciting way.  When not teaching, Mrs. Curiel enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.  She frequently travels back to her home country of Venezuela to visit her family, friends and enjoy the beautiful beaches and delicious food. She also enjoys cooking, singing, dancing and going to the movies.
